Man, another thing going wrong with today's youth. These are bracelets kids where, and depending on what one has done, it is torn (i think?? or the other way around, worn??) This is so sick. There are different meanings to the colors, but universally black=sex intercourse. Jebus. WTF is wrong with my generation and the young'uns. I've seen 13 and 14 year olds wearing this sh!t. Kids need to stop "maturing" so fast and go out and play some freaking ball. man...

This was a hoax told to gullible reporters by smartass kids.

You're also severla months behind on this, the media frenzy has already died down to embarassed silence.

For someone who hasn't yet passed 5th grade English class, you sound awfully like a bitter old man in his 70's...

The kids don't need to do anything - more parents need to use physical discipline, and more of it. Also, the phlegMTV offices must be bombed posthaste.

It might be considered a hoax, but there is no denying that it's probably going on anyways...

"Jennifer Brayton, a sociology professor at Ryerson University in Toronto, says the "sex bracelets" story may be more urban legend than reality, and the school reaction just lends it more credence.

"The schools banning them is giving it even more legitimacy. Because it's coming from a position of authority, it gives it more validity than maybe kids would necessarily give it if the schools weren't up in arms about it," said Brayton."

yeah, you can't listen to everything that's in the press. They are not in high school or grade school where it is being shown or happening like i am. It's pretty sick IMO

"We would happily shift this from the "Undetermined" category squarely into the "False" column save for a small handful of e-mails from youngsters who claim the rumor is on the up-and-up and that they know someone who did it. Quite possibly, those notes amount to nothing more than "I heard the story from someone I trust, so I want to believe it," but we feel we can't dismiss them out of hand. If, however, there have been some actual instances of sex obligated by bracelet-snap, they have been rare. "

I don't exactly follow. So you mean any loser can go up and rip off a girl's bracelet and get laid?

Umm...sorry, but high school students are going to have sex regardless of whether or not a bracelet is worn/torn. It's been happening for generations, and it'll continue to happen; it's just more out in the open today.

As for 13/14 year olds having sex...that's gone on for a good while as well, though it's not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. Sexually active 13-14 year-olds are still in the vast minority.

Hmm...I might be talking out of my a$$ here, but wasn't 13-14 considered proper age for a female to be married way back when? I know that Juliet was supposedly only 13, and Romeo was what 16? It's all a matter of societal standards.

But don't worry, most 13-14 year-olds are still more concerned about their first kiss than they are their first sexual experience.
