Sewer main in my backyard now busted thanks to propane crew

The people we contracted to put in a propane tank to feed our new generator just busted the sewer main that was clearly marked with spray paint (spray paint on the grass above the ground in which it runs) that goes thru my back yard. My back yard is now filling up with 100% pure human feces.

yay! anyone want pics?

(/goes to call someone to fix it)

Focker!

Bob Banks: What is that smell?
Jack Byrnes: That smell, Bob, is our ******. Focker flushed the toilet in the den so the septic tank overflowed.
Greg Focker: I told you, Jack, it wasn't me, it was Jinx.
Jack Byrnes: FOCKER, I'm not gonna tell you again. Jinx cannot flush the toilet. He's a cat for Christ sakes!
Larry: The animal doesn't even have thumbs, Focker.

It is extremely common for excavation crews to encounter and damage a utility line, located or not. Since it is located, it is their responsibility to repair it. Also, location paint marks are considered to be adequate if they are within 2' left or right of reality. Plus, the paint mark does not indicate how deep the line is.

This situation is very common. It's kind of no big deal. But thanks for mentioning it. 🙂

Exactly why are you calling to find someone to repair the damage? They broke a marked and segmented line, so its 100% their responsibility to take care of the mess they made. In fact, I'd call their main office and demand they have it taken care of NOW rather than letting it sit.

No reason for you to fret over their stupidity
