Several Problems regarding booting and unknown crashes

Hi all, I built this new PC based on an older post of anandtech's article on building a mid-level performance PC. It consists of:

i7-920, 6gb OCZ (i forgot the speed) RAM, 750W PSU (i believe), Sapphire Radeon 4890 HD, and gigabyte motherboard.

Problems:

1. I formatted my drive and now installed Windows 7 professional 64bits and it started to show problems such as when I put the computer to sleep, it would either wake up really really really slowly, freeze at the welcome screen, or just won't wake up at all (monitor pitch black). This happens too when I let the computer go to sleep on its own. Both cases (I click on SLEEP or let it sleep on its own) have that happened, though not always. If I wake up the computer within like...3 mins after its been put to sleep, it would wake up just fine.

2. Sometimes I just couldn't get the computer to boot. I press the power button and it would just freeze at the screen that shows the picture of the model and brand of the motherboard with the selection to go into bios or Q-flash or whatever. It would just freeze there. I notice the inside of my computer will have the orange glow (like indicator lights) next to several green ones when I first start the computer (regardless of it crashes or not). If the computer starts fine, the orange indicator would be turned off. If it crashes, the orange indicator light stays on.

Please help me as this problem takes 5-6 pushes of RESET to overcome every 30 minutes.

Thank you

Slow loading, watching it render for the welcome screen typically comes to me as a video card, northbridge or driver issue. Hopefully you have all those drivers installed correctly?
Could also be the MB.

There were certain manufacturing defects in LCD's could go bad when they go to sleep, BenQ's 2400WD was an example. The fix for those is just really to turn it off and back on though.

I'm using Samsung T240 and I tried turning it off and on but seems like problem is not within the monitor. Though I have some separate problems with the monitor that isn't my biggest concern right now.

Anyone got any more input on my weird computer problems? It just happened again right now. It wont wake up when I move my mouse. The PC powers up but monitor gets no signal and I had to reset like two times.

Please help

The not returning from sleep/hibernate sounds like a video driver issue, be sure to update this, or if it is up-to-date you may consider just disabling sleep/hibernate mode; some video cards aren't compatible.

However, the freezing at bios sounds like another problem all together. Do you get any beep codes when it doesn't finish booting? Have you seen any BSOD/error codes? otherwise I'd start running some hardware diagnostics; RAM seems like the most likely culprit here though it could defiantly be the GPU (or something else).
