First of all, I have been using PCPitStop as a general checkup utility and wonder if there are any others recommended by any of you?

Secondly, does anyone know of a disk defrag program that is better than the one that comes with windows? Preferrably a free download verision.

Thirdly, I have noticed that when a page loads - online - that some of the graphics will not load but show the box, with and "x" where the graphic should be...any suggestions?

And lastly, PCPitStop shows my hard disk as uncached but offers no suggesitons...is that a problem? Just curious.

Thanks for any suggestions!

See my reply to "a question for all you windows gurus..." from Moogen. And I use Ontrack SystemSuite for my utilities. It's not too expensive and works as well or better than Norton's SystemWorks. Ontrack just sold a lot of their utility software titles to another company, but if you go to the Ontrack site you will be directed to the correct location. Several web sites like Chumbo stock it as well as many of the big box stores (CompUSA, BestBuy, etc.)

I think that usually occurs when the person who created the website has incorrectly named the filename of the graphic or placed it in the wrong location. It's not your system.

First, in reply to Zepper...I was looking for some freeware if possible. And, in response to your reply to Moogen, I am running Windows98 also. Is there some way that I can download the WindowsME defrag utility and install it on my computer?

In reply to Talon...I don't think that it is creator of the website as the first one that I noticed was my opening page for msn. I'm wondering if maybe some of my settings are not correct. SIDE NOTE: I recently upgraded my version of msn.

One other thing, I am now getting a message box that pops up saying that my disk is full and I need to run Disk Cleanup. Disk Cleanup is showing that I have 3.26 MB in my "Temporary Internet Files" and .5 MB in my "Temporary Files." I have been doing alot of downloading of mp3 files and am wondering if that would be causing this?

Any other suggestions?
