we went from almost 90 degrees this week, to thunderstorms and pouring rain, to around 50's today.

We had an inch of snow about two and a half weeks ago (snow in October is uncommon here, but not rare), and in the time since then we've been over 70 on multiple occasions (which is weird).

Snowed on Halloween here, but nothing stuck.

Snow was really typical here by halloween back when I was a kid. Global warming/climate change has really changed our climate though. Our permanent snow comes later every year. Sometimes it's like mid December, it's crazy. Lot of places in the south get more snow than we do now.

I spend lots of time in western Canada and the fires now are just insane. Half the summer you basically couldn't see the sun because of all the smoke in the air. I barely remember days like that as a kid, let alone entire months.

Yeah it was touching 80F yesterday, but a front went through in the evening. So today was overcast in the mid 50s.

Who cares? Dark at 6:30 and fall back this weekend. Bourbon and pretzels until April. I should be about 400 lbs.

Might be able to take lxs by falling on him. :mancard;

LoL! Drinking season's definitely here. I don't know what I'm gonna do for exercise when my tree's cut up. I'm thinking it'll be done this year. I might play around on the boss' farm. Get everything cleaned up. There's a bunch of EAB killed ash that should come down; a couple have potential to cross drives, and make it a pita if they come down under their own accord. Also a shit ton of vines. I fucking hate vines. Parasites that slowly bring down their betters. Like politicians :^P

Anyway, point is it's something constructive that'll keep my ass moving. I'm stuck at ~225#. I'd like to be 200#, but I'm cool with what I have for the thought I put into it(almost none), but drinking season puts on the pounds.

For those of you that don't know, this is lxs' twin so 200lbs isn't ever going to happen.

I'm pretty sure you could find plenty of people that will let you take down trees in their yards for free.

Indian summer, nothing new. As a side note we have also had 2 feet of snow in early November (see the Veteran's Day snowstorm).

Indian summer comes after the frost. No real frost yet this year. This is just more fucking summer after a brief respite. It stays warm longer than it used to.

We've had frost, I had to take my citrus trees in 2 weeks ago for a freeze warning.

It's usually described as a killing frost. I don't want to get too pedantic over a colloquial term, but we haven't had a real frost yet. Your citrus trees would have been fine outside assuming you're in VA as I remember.

In any case Shorty seems continually shocked at what is normal weather in Northern Virginia. We get pretty wide swings in temperature rather quickly at this time of the year and warm winters are not unknown. Old guys like me can recall winters where we had no measurable snow and winters where we have been slammed by multiple blizzards and a frozen over Potomac River. In the end the averages win so when you get a day with temps 10 degrees above the normal enjoy knowing that days with below normal temps are likely ahead as well.

Yeah, 66F here today, and mid-50s to 60s over the weekend. Raining too so it'll be pegged at 99% humidity for the next few days. Yay...
