Among other items harvested from our recent trip to France, the wine is the best part. Seven bottles of wine from the small town of Auxey-Duresse (6 red, 1 white), just west of Meursault and southwest of the main town of Beaune. Impossible to find in the U.S. and truly exceptional wine -- seven bottles for only $70, two of which are excellent years that need about 5-10 more years of aging!

Now, time for sleep...23 hours awake, 10 of which was spent on planes and 5 spent in airport. :(

I guess you weren't on a farm, huh? How was Hartsfield with all that Foot & Mouth Diseases stuff going on?

Been there, done that on that 23 hour travelling thing. Trip in HS, stupid tour company routed us from Manchester to Chicago then back to DC. 8 hour layover in Chicago. That REALLY REALLY sucked.

Well, we went to a vineyard, but when I told the Customs guy that, he didn't care -- no farm animals in sight unless you count the little terrier that was running around.

We flew from Paris to Washington so the Customs checks took place there and not here in Atlanta. I am very glad for that since Hartsfield is probably the worst airport around in so many ways. Last night, they stuck us at Gate E-28 at midnight. So, there were dozens and dozens of gates open, but we were nearly in the LAST gate in the LAST terminal -- morons. Then, to top it off, they had about five flights (the only ones in the airport) on one baggage carousel so everyone was crowded around one place in the huge baggage claim area.

God, I hate being back in the U.S.!
