OK, i tried turning around the HDD LED cable to see if the HDD LED comes on...it WORKED !! :D

Regarding the CPU Frequency error...i didn't reset the CMOS...instead, I just selected the 'Load Optimized Defaults' option in the BIOS again...I hope the CPU Frequency error does not reapper this time hopefully...

Regarding Memtest...

I decided to run memtest, so I went into the BIOS and enabled it...Memtest is running right now....but I have a few Questions.. have a look at this pic of the PC running Memtest:

http://img160.imageshack.us/img160/1609/1001434ts6.jpg

Somethings to note down are:

1) RAM timings are more or less automatically detected...I have DDR500 3-4-4-8 RAM, whereas the system detects it as DDR401 3-4-4-7

2) Also memtest is indicating that this is Dual Channel :)

3) The Memtest version is 1.55, whereas the latest is 3.2 (which I also have on CD)...so isnt it better that I run the CD version ??

4) You guys pointed out that I should run tests 5 and 8....but when I go into the test selection menu of this Memtest 1.55, I just see a max of Test 5...the 6th option is the (0) Continue option ......probably version 3.2 has more tests available...

Lastly, I have noticed that the PC keeps making this very slight split-split second sound...it is like a crackle....the PC makes it like every 2-3 minutes in the start.........i think it is probably because the temperature inside the casing is gradually rising, so the motherboard is slightly expanding :eek2:....this happens with the heater in my room as well :p......also I am guessing that this is the reason since the crackle sound only comes when the system is on...

awaiting replies....thanx guys :D

EDIT: but Memtest is saying the CPU is AMD Athlon 64..whereas its actually AMD Opteron 165....bug in the program ?
