setup.exe error on windows 2003

I have an application that when I click on setup, it appears to run , but its not showing up on the desktop, only in task manager... has anyone seen tis on windows 2003 before?

this is an in house developed app that had its installer origionally working on windows XP. I tried getting it to run in compatibility mode but that doesnt help. basically setup shows in the task manager but not on the screen

Are you running the latest .NET framework? This is only relevant if this application was developed in .NET.

tis is a .net 1.1 appand yes im running the latest frameworks
