Building best rig I can for as little $ as possible
See "RIG 2" in sig

My inherent bargain hunting intuition kicked in and
CLICKED for a MSI 6600GT retail for 87.05 shipped@fleebay
I really wanted a BFG or EVGA and I'm a little meloncholy..

Really wanted ATI AVIVO, but I've got a NF4 board so thought 100% NVIDIA....
Only really play AOE3 now (and RTCW) but would like to try
F.E.A.R and CIV4 and who know maybe BF2

50/50 mix of VideoEdit/Transcode & Gaming

Was looking at the PNY 6800

My 6600GT runs it very nicely at 1280.

a gto/gto2 would be a huge step up tho ;)

I could get this

PNY VCG68128XWB Geforce 6800 128MB 256-bit

for 110 shipped (it's 150 AR - the egg)

couldn't decide if the 256-bit and extra quad were worth it in this model
it's listed at GDDR3 but it's actually 2.8ns DDR1 (core and mem know to OC tho)

all using more juice of corse..

can I run BOTH 6600gt and 6800 for Video Editing on 2 crts and 1 tv preview?

Honestly, a plain-jane 6800 isn't giving you much over a 6600GT, especially a 128 meg one. I would stick with that great deal you got :)
