settings not sticking???

I go to control panel, internet options, connections tabs, lan settings.

W/ @home, and me directly connected to modem, i was supply to put in their proxy.

now, behind a SMC router, I need that left blank (everything under automatic config unchecked). WHY oh why won't it stay unchecked?? I've tried changing it in IE and in the control panel to no success 🙁

Any ideas?
 
It won't stay because it's designed to reset 😉

This is controlled by a ddl file, ahiehelp.dll. To disable it, goto your run menu and type in "regsvr32 -u ahiehelp.dll"
 
Also if you have the @home software installed it will autoreset...you have to uninstall all @Home components if you installed them to get it to stay blank.
 
Nah, as long as the dll is unregistered, it doesn't matter if you have the software installed or not. Although uninstalling the software certainly works too 😉
