settings for schweeet performance

I just put together my new system :

IWILL KA-266 Mobo
1.2 T-bird
512 MB PC2100-DDR Ram


I need help to figure out the best settings for the FSB and ratio stuff. Here's what I've done..

133 mhz FSB, 9.5 multiplier, core voltage is at 1.78
(So its runnin at 1266)

Its runnin at 48-52 C.

Question: Should I

Increase/Decrease the FSB/multiplier
Increase/Decrease voltage
Any other suggestions.

I want the most power possible and still run cool. (BTW What should the average temp be for max stability??)

hmm...ur 1.2 oughta make 1.4 w/o too much trouble...go ahead and try 140fsb*10multiplier

When OCing...leave multiplier at default. Then OC as far as you can on FSB. Come down a bit on the FSB, then increase multiplier. Increase voltage as needed for more stability.

FSB overclocks your entire system--it alters the PCI speed. Base PCI on a 133fsb is 1/4. (133/4=33mhz PCI) Thus, increasing the FSB will also increase the PCI speeds. This is good for performance, but some people run into problems when the PCI gets beyond 40mhz or so (160fsb)...~40mhz fsb is a bit high.

Oh, and increasing the FSB increases the speed at which the RAM operates. When you go past 150mhz...watch for RAM related problems...up the RAM voltage or goto CAS3 if you have problems.

Multiplier only speeds up/slows the CPU. Sometimes people raise the FSB/lower the multiplier, to achieve the same CPU speed, but concentrating on OCing the entire system, not just the CPU.

As for voltage...1.95 should be you upper limit--beyond that, heat will probably be a problem...
