Here are my Specs:
CPU:E6600
Mobo:Gigabyte DS3 (F6 BIOS)
RAM: 1x2 GB DDR2 667 MHz (Kingston Brand)
Cooling: Stock Fan

CPU Temperature when idle:51 Degrees Celcius
CPU Temperature under 100% Load: 65 Degrees Celcius

What Overclock would you guys recommend on the above configuration?
No errors running orthos...Temps max at 65....

Thanks for your inputs :)

EDIT: Typo mistake :)

Sorry SuLyMaN, but with your current load temps at 65 and stock cooling, I don't think it'd be wise to overclock. 65C should be your MAX Tjunction temperature, overclocked or not.

None. Either your heatsink isn't fully seated, or you need to buy some case fans, or you need to buy an air conditioner. 65C under load is high, especially at stock speed.

Overclocking that would be bad. You should reseat the cooler and see if your temps go down at all.

(My temps with stock cooler were similar, but I picked up an Infinity and it's all better now)

Yeah that temp is pretty darn high.

I have a stock cooler (E6600 stock settings) and the same board, I'm getting 29 idle and 52 under Orthos blend. I'm using F10 BIOS.

By case does have some pretty decent cooling though (3 - 80mm fans on the 5V rail).

What's the most current bios for the DS3? What's the most stable and efficient one for overclocking an E6600?

I've had good luck with F7, F10 is the newest full version (adds some Intel AHCI settings that I couldn't get to work), there's an F11 beta.

If you use @Bios to flash, USA site may show F7 as the most recent, but if you go to the Taiwan download site in the drop-down it'll give you F10.

Im using F6 because Im darn afraid to flash my BIOS! I made my previous MSI board stop working by using the Live flashing utility from Windows...Im afraid of flashing to the most recent BIOS now :( Any tips anyone??

Ill try to reseat it... If the temperature does not go down, what cooler do you guys advise me to use? I sowant to have a 3GHz CPU! :)

You can flash from DOS in most systems, although I trust/use the Asus update for Windows for my P5B-D.

something is wrong with your temps, my roommate has a C2D E6400 with a stock cooler in a Coolmaster case with only one 120mm low speed fan and his load temp (at 2133GHz stock) is in the low-mid 50's.

@Accord99: Ill Chk my BIOS for this :)

Im really sick and fed up of these freaky temperatures Im getting...I stressed tessed using Orthos today (CPU+MEmory+Full CPU Load)...temps got at 71!!!I stopped the stress testing...

My Cooler is firmly seated....But the thermal paste is badly applied ( I removed the CPU from another mobo to use it on my current Gigabyte Mobo)

Im considering changing to those coolers:
Thermalright Ultra 120
Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme
Tuniq Tower 120
But im clueless??? I read this review (http://www.anandtech.com/casecooling/showdoc.aspx?i=2943) and I didnot understand it well....DO I have to buy a fan separately from the Cooling tower or it comes together? They used "Scythe S-Flex fan"....

Please advice fast as I will have those items ordered from another country and my cousin will get me it!

P.S:- I will also get some Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Paste.

Thnks to everyone for their input on my big problem....

EDIT: Typos ;-)

SuLy -- what is your core voltage set at? Maybe it was set really high and that is giving you heat issues? At stock speeds, you should be able ro run <1.3v.

Also, the first day or two on my new build I had heat issues with the stock cooler. After a couple a day or two, temps came down by 10C in TAT. Some thermal material requires some curing time (not sure if the Intel stuff does), so you have to take that into account, especially if you get an aftermarket cooler.

As for those coolers, the Tuniq comes with a fan, but the Thermalright Ultra / Extreme do not, so you'd have to buy the fan too (120mm).
