Yeah, first thing I thought about when I heard Pole Vault.

That list fucking blows by the way. Definitely hard stuff on there, but the order is whacked out. Like, pitching two no-hitters in a row, which has only been done once ever is harder then hitting .400.

Pole Vault, meh. To me, that's either some dick getting over himself, (I'll pause for a moment to let that one sink in), or a male chastity belt.

Pole Vault isnt that simple

It's all about the energy you put in to the pole. You're converting horizontal inertia into vertical movement using the pole.

<---not very good pole vaulter back in the day.

I disagree vehemently.

As rare and as difficult a feat as it is, some hot pitcher will luck into a perfect storm of circumstance and toss two no-hitters in a row LONG BEFORE anyone will ever bat .400, which in fact no MLB batter will most likely ever achieve again.

No, a pitcher wont luck into it, because it's only happened once.

Scoring 80 goals in a hockey season was a dumb one too, when Gretzky scored 90+, it should have been "scoring 90 goals in a season" instead.

Its like long jumping. Why not just run faster prior to your final jump?

Going 100 years without winning the World Series should have been one. The Cubs are fucking amazing at losing. Teams couldnt try to be as good as them at what they do.

You FAIL at both logic and knowlege of baseball. AGAIN, it is FAR MORE likely that this two start long "perfect storm" will happen again than that anyone will ever hit .400 OVER AN ENTIRE 162 GAME SEASON again.

Anyone who knows baseball understands how true this is.

the longer the pole, the harder it is to control and get yourself up on it (cue bad jokes now :p;) It makes more sense, efficiency-wise and safety-wise, to find a pole length that you can work with comfortably, and work on your strength and coordination to propel you over the bar.

BTW, the woman who holds the American record for the pole vault lives and practices about 20 minutes from where I live. She's beastly!

Bring Jordan back and watch Kobe look average. People need to go back and look at Bulls performances in the mid-90s to realize just how dominant MJ was. Kobe only looks strong because His Airness has been retired for a while.

I don't even know why you're getting bent out of shape on something that can't really be compared but I think that the back to back no-hitters are the less likely feat.

It's not uncommon for a great player to have a series where they go well over .500, and there are players that sit above .400 for a month span... I don't see why a hot streak can't last for a season.

However, even some the best pitchers don't have a no-hitter under their belt, let alone two (maybe two dozen or so have [at least] two?)... dare I say that only 4 pitchers have ever had two no-hitters in the same SEASON.

Like I said, it's apples and oranges, but more players have hit over .400 in a season than have pitched back to back no-hitters, right?

I agree. Of course I have some bias as my great grandfather was Johnny Vander Meer's catcher. :p
