Setting Windows 7 default browser for Origin

I am not sure if what I want is possible, but here it goes. I prefer IE9 and have it set as the default browser in Windows 7. However, I use chrome only for Battlefield 3 because the battlelog plugins seem to work better. The problem, of course, is that clicking any link in origin will open said link in IE9.

So is it possible in Windows 7 to set chrome as the default browser for Origin only? Thus far, I've only found ways to set the entire systems default browser, but not for a specific application. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!

There's nothing like that to my knowledge. Sorry.:(

Origin would need that option, not Windows. Origin is most likely designed to just call whatever the URL handler is registered for what you clicked.

You could probably cobble together a small application (or maybe even a script) that would be set as the default browser, check whether it was invoked from Origin, then call up IE or Chrome with the URL.

Well...you could use Chrome as your default browser and have it render some/all pages using the IE engine. You said you prefer IE so I'm not sure if this is a workable option for you.

The basic Chrome browser can do this - render specific pages using IE or the Chrome engine, but I haven't found an extension that makes it as easy as it is in Coolnovo (built-in), which is a chrome-based browser.
