Setting up x2 SATA Raptors in NON-RAID config problems

First off, I apologize in advance for the length of this post.

I am presently encountering a bit of a problem when building one of my new +3500 systems. The problem is that I cannot get my computer to accept two WD 74GB Raptors on my system. When I hook up just one Raptor, all is well. I have installed the OS on it (WinXP Home), loaded up all my programs and software, ran all updates to include sound card, mobo, video card etc. etc., and in general, the computer is stable as a rock.

However, as soon as I attempt to install the other Raptor, things go to hell. The computer will recognize the first Raptor with the OS in BIOS, but not the second. When the computer does its POST check it too only sees the first Raptor, not the second. But the biggest problem I am having is that when I disconnect that hard drive, my computer still recognizes the first Rator, but will not boot to Windows. It sends me to the screen to select how I want to boot my system: Safe Mode, Network Mode, Normally, etc. etc.

Choosing any of these options does not allow the computer to boot to desktop. Choosing any option brings up the Windows logo screen with the blue bar but after that it you would expect to see the "Welcome" screen, but you dont. Instead, it flashes a solid blue screen with writing on it that I cannot read becauses it goes away too fast. It then goes through POST and back to selecting how I want to boot my system.

This computer is not intended for RAID purposes, and after the computer runs its POST check, I get a black screen which says:

NVIDIA IDE RAID BIOS v. 4.60
Detecting Array....
Realtek Gigabit Boot Agent
Press shift-F10 to configure...

Does this indicate where the problem lies? Simply put, I just want to use two SATA Raptors in a non RAID configuration on this MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum mobo. As this is my first build, I am afraid that I am at loss as to what to do here.

Any help would certainly be appreciated.
