setting up the local area network

I want to set up the local area network for the five computers. The host
computer is unable to see anything that means when i click on the network
neighborhood. It says unable to browse the network. Client number 1, sees
the host and itself. Client number 2 see itself and client number 4. Client numnber
3 see itself only. Client number 4 sees itself and client number 2. I checked all
the setting in the network neighborhood properties. It seems everything is fine.
I am using ops windows 98.I will appreciate your suggestions
Regards
Shoakat

Make sure you have the tcp/ip , client microsoft networks, windows file/print sharing, and netbeui installed on all your systems. Make sure none of them has a slight shaded effect on the checkbox because that means it's not fully enabled! Next, make sure all your computers have unique names, no duplicates. Then make sure you are all on the same workground, usually "WORKGROUP" by default. Reboot after making any kind of change.
