Thanks to alot helpful folks online I installed and got my new Raptor 74meg sata drive(WD740ADRDRTL) working today. I got this small drive bascially for faster loading in mmorpgs like WOW and EQ from my very old IDE drive. It does seem faster not alot but faster. Is there anything more I should know to get the best out these drives besides just installing them? I had go controller route as my MB from 2001 was too old have sata in it. To get the raptor to be the boot drive I had to go into the bios and turn on scsi for some reason as boot device. Im told I dont have mess with Master or Slave setting on IDE I left those alone. Hopefully way I did this will not effect performance.

You had to turn on SCSI because computers see SATA as SCSI drives for some reason, but I don't know why. You're also right about not needing to set master or slave. I just bought one of these drives the other day, and I can't really tell a LOT of difference, but that may just be me.
