Im setting up my 2 raptors in raid 0 yes i know i know....learning experience...What i need to know is what is stripping block? how much do i set it at? using onboard raid controller. specs in sig. thanks

I believe the striping block is the size of data chunk.
A 32k would mean that 32k of data is written to each drive alternatively(?).
Stripe size depends on what kind of stuff you will be doing (ie: lots of small files, lots of large files, IIRC), so what's going to be the main use of the array?

bad combo...

software = small files
music = large files

I suggest you set your stripe to something large, like 1024 or 2048.
There is virtually no point in setting the stripe to anything below that, because you will see no gain in performance from large files (as they are split tons of times), and software files are usually so small they get written on 1 drive only.
So using small stripe size = no improvement at all,
while large stripe size = no improvement on small files, but huge improvement on large files.
