Setting up RAID on the BFG 680i motherboard

It isn't letting me set up any kind of RAID on this new motherboard. I have an existing array of 160GB hard drives that I had running RAID 1 to preserve all my music and pictures...

The manual is very brief on RAID, and the BIOS itself is cryptic and confusing.

So how the hell do I set this up? I have one of my drives on SATA Channel 3, and the other on SATA Channel 6... I want to link these together in the array... but in the BIOS it says:

RAID - Enable/Disable
SATA 0 Primary - Enable/Disable
SATA 0 Secondary - Enable/Disable
SATA 1 Primary - Enable/Disable...
etc...

First, I would google for the Nforce RAID (mediashield) admin guide. It's pretty comprehensive.

On my board, I had to set RAID (enable), then set each SATA drive that I wanted to use through the Nforce RAID, as Enables (I turned all of them on). Then reboot.

You should get a prompt after the initial BIOS for the RAID management. I think you hit f10 to get into that section. In there you setup your drives. Then reboot.

That's the way my A8N-E nForce4 board works.

I emailed their tech support and they gave me another cryptic answer...

He said the "SATA 0 Master, SATA 0 Secondary, etc" are just like PATA and I just needed to plug the SATA drive into adjacent slots.

WTF? These guys are morons... I DO have them plugged into adjacent slots but they are showing up as SATA Channels 3 and 6...

I'll check out the nForce RAID thing... I installed the driver for it, but it never gave me an option to set anything up through the software.
