I have WD TV Live media player , Apple Ipad, windows PC and Sony Bravia TV. Using WD TV Live media player to play on my movies on PC. Recently I bought Apple TV because of its excellent user experience. Now I am planning to buy WD My Book Live 3TB so that I can store all my media on it and access from Ipad, Apple TV and. WD TV Live. I have following questions.

1. Is it better to buy WD My Book Live 3TB or WD TV Live Hub and throw away WD TV Live media player ?
2. Lot of confusion on using ITunes server feature available on WD My Book Live 3TB to stream music and movies to Apple TV. Can we do it without Jailbreaking? Actually I want to stream music and movies from WD My Book Live 3TB to Apple TV directly without help of PC.
3. There are 2 ways to connect media to iTunes library on PC. One way is to mount folder containing media files on NAS and other way is to connect using iTunes server feature available on WD My Book Live 3TB . What is the difference ?

Overall I want to setup more user friendly environment to view my media on my TV. Can anyone please suggest better way of doing?

Thanks

I have had zero luck getting video to stream to the apple tv from anything but iTunes on a computer. That is why I also use a WD TV Live as it will stream from anything easily. This is where the iTunes constriction is a huge downside. I'm hugely interested if the Live Hub will stream to the Apple TV. I've been considering getting a Hub myself if for nothing else than to get away from the horridly ugly interface of the regular Live. Certainly subscribed to this thread.
