Trying to get ready to flash DD-WRT to the WRT54G but want to make sure the Buffalo WZR2-G300N is in place first.
I installed the software from the included CD (Win XP Pro SP2) and hooked up the Buffalo in place of the Linksys. The Comcast cable modem runs into the "Internet" port of the Buffalo (just like the Linksys), and LAN1 goes to my computer (just like the Linksys).
I couldn't get any Internet access on my computer. My buddy told me to leave it for an hour or so (something about the computer needing to request something from Comcast). Sorry for the total newbie terminology. I left it on while I watched 2 episodes of "The Office" on my Tivo. Stll no internet. I did an "ipconfig/all" and I had an IP address (192.x.x.x internal), and the DNS servers were all pointing to the Buffalo.
What pertinent information should I post here that would be more helpful? Or do I just need to leave it plugged in longer?
P.S. I used the same SSID and passphrase on the Buffalo, but I think that should just affect the wireless connections.
