I'm trying to do maintenence on a Netvista IBM desktop, but when I formatted the onboard network board wouldn't work, I'm wondering why this is? Also, are there drivers and where?

I knew they would delete but Windows XP compatible PC's usually load drivers from an XP install. As far as support, I don't know the Model # of the PC, it's nowhere on the case. I know the S/N but that's it.
This is true for a lot of NICs, but Windows can't house generic drivers for every card ever made.
Have you tried looking up the serial number? Nothing on the case or any sort of service tag that would distinguish the model? Try to open the case and search for network drivers based on the motherboard make/model.
I would suggest for future formats you gather the necessary info because erasing it all...dont rely on Windows.
