Setting up multiple profiles with HL2?

Not sure if this has been covered before ...........

But I just picked up the Orange Box and was surprised to see that HL2 allows only 1 profile. Am used to COD and Crysis that allows multiple profiles. Sorry, am new to the HL world.

Is it possible to have multiple Half Life 2 profiles so 2 or more users can use the install without stepping on each other's save games?

Thanks in advance
Francis

I don't think you can do that without creating separate Steam accounts. That would also mean buying multiple copies of the game. You could always just copy one players set of saves out of the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\yoursteamname\half-life 2\hl2\SAVE (vista default directory) directory so the second player could play. Then copy yours back in when needed.

Yeah, I would agree, multiple profiles would involve separate Steam accounts.

Thanks. Was hoping for an easy way out but looks like just need to copy the saved games if need to switch.
Just got used to other games where multiple profiles are allowed 🙂
