Setting up Linux Mandrake 9.1 as a web/php server

Let me start by explaining why this is in General Hardware: It deals with Windows, Linux, Networking, Servers, and some other things, so it didn't really fit into any other forum.

Ok, so right now I have:
-A 4-port Router (that assigns IPs, and shares my DSL)
-2 computers running winXP Pro
-A 300mhz Compaq soon to be installed with Mandrake 9.1

Right now, the router assigns IPs to my computers. I want to experiment with making a web/php/mySQL server, and I want to do it in Linux. My question is, how will I hook the Linux machine into the network? Is there software built into the 9.1 version of Mandrake that will allow me to do this? Also, does anyone see any problems with what I have planned?

Thanks for any input/suggestions/help! If anyone needs any more information or specifications about anything, feel free to ask!

Note: A few days ago I saw a link to a "Networking Mandrake with WindowsXP" article, bu I can't seem to find it. Anyone?

Also, the Compaq has the following specs:
-300mhz Celeron
-256MB PC100 Ram
-7gb 5400rpm 5.25" hard drive

Would this be adequite for a websever just for my own small web page?

my server runs just fine on a pentium 166 with 96mb of ram with debian. You're should run fine. Your router will assign IP address by DHCP, so just make sure in the installation that you tell mandrake to use DHCP.
