Linksys still hasn't done their xp drivers. I don't have the router, I have the WAP11. It works, but you can't have encryption turn on.
According to their site, the drivers should be out soon.

I have the Linksys Wireless Router and their PCMCIA Laptop Nic card (Version 2.5), and all works fine. If I recall correctly, there was a firmware update for the card to enable some Windows XP Wireless connection monitoring thing.

It does not require any software other than the drivers I got from Linksys webpage (Don't think Linksys Network monitoring stuff works). I see a network strength meter in the connection properties, and can also see it by mouse-overing the connection icon in the system tray (standard icon ... the 2 PC's).

OK, I just pulled my laptop up.. In the network connections, I have all listed. One for the Internal Cat5 connection and one for the Wireless network connection. To get the the WEP key, double click on the Wireless connection then hit properties. Move to the "Wireless Networks" tab. It will display all wireless networks available here. You can connect or change settings with the Configure and Properties buttons. The WEP key is in the Properties.

I think this only works if you update your firmware on the card, which was triggered by XP or Linksys' updated drivers.

Like I said..

If I recall correctly, once I installed the drivers (on Linksys' page), it prompted me to update the firmware automatically.

To find the version of the card, just look on the front/top. Right under "Network PC Card" it will have V2.5 or V3.0. If nothing is there, I would assume you have version 1.
