Setting up ICS. Both NICs D-Link 530TX. How do I tell the difference between one and the other when viewing them in the Network|Config window using Win98 2ed? I'm thinking of replacing one of them with an older NIC of a different brand just so I can tell the difference especially when selecting
ICS(Protocol)->D-Link 530TX

your problem is the reason most people don't use the exact same card in a dual card set up. If I was you, you could install one, set everything up for it, then, install the other one. it would be much easier though to get a different card in there.

First thing I would do is remove one of the NICs.
Configure the one left in there the way you want it.
Copy the inf file to a dir on your hard drive and change the
discription of the card in the inf. When the OS finds the new
card point it to the modified inf. You can then tell the cards apart.

Another way is to edit the regestry if you what PCI slot the card is in you can just modify it there.

Hope this helps.
If you want post the inf on here and I will mod it for you.
