Setting up home network first time.

I am using NT server and NT workstation I can't connect to the internet with the workstation. I can only connect with the server, I ping both machines and they responed correctly. I think it has something.DHCP or DNS IP address. Ilook for some help but I could find anything to help.

Setting up a home network can be difficult at times for those who are new to it. I have had this problem myself a few years ago. What type of internet connection do you have and are the internet related items the only thing that is giving you a problem. One thing you may want to try is installing a proxy server on your server. It would fix your internet problems. Just make sure that you have the correct gateway, DNS, etc... on your workstations to that they can communicate with the Server.
 
Running in NT domain or peer to peer? I suppose since this is your first attempt you are running it in peer to peer setup. You don't need to setup DHCP and DNS in a "normal" home network setup. I am not sure if NT has ICS or not sounds like that's what you need to get your workstation connected to the internet.
 
Whatever machine is connected to the internet you need to install a proxy server of some sort in order for the other machine to access the internet. downloads.com has winproxy which I used with no problems until the trial expired. anyone got the key? lol
