I've got the site created and the home dir loaded.
now i also have dir's like my cd-rom and others that aren't in the home dir. I've added them by going adding them as virtual dir's.
So not the server's ready. i have the port, the ip address. and a test account to use (that was a pain). i connect and it works. only problem i don't see any of the virtual dir's i only see the 2 dir's that were in the home dir, and that's it. Everything world be perfect if i could see the 'virtual dir's'. Please help. i'm so close i can taste it.

Do you mean "you can't see the virtual dir" when you are logging into your FTP server?

If so, this is normal, you are not supposed to see virtual directories in your FTP server, that is why they are called virtual first of all.

You can only see the physical directory when logged into your ftp server. You can however change directory to the virtual directory by sending the cd command.

err

So are you saying there's no way i can see a dir that's not in the home dir. This doesn't make much sense. Theres got to be a way.

I don't have much experience with the built in ftp of win2k but usually I use link inside the physical directories to access the virtual ones. If you want my advice, get servu or G6ftp and forget that microsoft crap, security is always an issue with MS products.
