Setting up AGP 8X support on a new Dell 400SC

Just got my Dell 400SC and want to set up the AGP port to 8x. It is now 4x but my video card (an Asus TI4200 does support 8x). The card works fine but need to go to 8x on the AGP. Thanks

What sort of options do you have in the system BIOS?

I am not familiar with your vcard in particular but when I try to change the settings on my ATI card, I goto display->settings->advanced (bottom right)-> and from there one of the tabs available has the option to tweak the agp. All this is from memory(currently at work) but I perhaps you vcard has a similar layout.

Are you sure your Dell MB supports 8X? If it does there should be an option in the bios to set it to 4X, 8X etc.

There is a setting for it in the Smart Gart tab in the ATI control panel, but if your dell doesn't support it that won't help.

Yes, it has the Intel 875P chipset which does support 8x. Thanks
