Setting up a server with a 1.5TB UPnP storage device

This UPnP will be a 1.5TB 'drive' (4 drives RAIDed). In the hardware forum I was told to check around for some advice on setting up my own server my RAID as a UPnP device, OR to just buy a NAS which is already set up to do UPnP (Infrant).

I was told a program called Samba could do this? I really am testing new waters with this idea, so any advice, suggestions would be appreciated. He told me it would probably be difficult, but definitely possible.

Thanks

PS. I need it to be UPnP for this Netgear's EVA8000

The program called SAMBA runs on an operating system called Linux, started by a man named Linus
I would install Linux and run Samba 😉

Thanks for the smart ass comment... The reason I am inquiring about Samba is because it is on Linux, so I know that. However, I would like to know which route I am going to take before I start buying stuff.

I don't know about the UPnP aspect, it's use looks dubious at best. But it looks like there's a couple of UPnP daemons for Linux if you really must have it, but one won't be integrated into OpenFiler until the next release, but it probably wouldn't be too difficult to install and Samba can do everything else you need without any problems. If you use a Linux distro you'll have a lot more flexibility but it'll also be more work to setup if you're not comfortable with Linux.
