Setting up a Server w/ quickbooks

I am going to be setting up a server for someone using quickbooks (I believe enterprise edition) and jsut wanted some tips on how to set it all up.


I am going to be using Windows Small Business Server '03 Premium Edition and will be using quickbooks on the server. My question is they have a setup now using Windows Server 03 and are having the users remote desktop to the server and using quickbooks that way which seems to me to be the slow way of doing it. Is there a way to setup a limited account login directly to the server? A terminal login comes to mind and seems like it would be faster. I might be talking a little out of my ass here so to speak lol and was jsut looking for some insight.


Also does anyone know if quickbooks works with 64 bit version of Vista and having any compatiblity problems with it being installed on a 32 bit and 64 bit system? (meaning if the head honco is running a 64 bit version of vista, creates a file in quickbooks or any other program for that matter, will he be able to send it to others who are using the non-64 bit edition of xp or vista?) Thanks!
 
You can install QB on each workstation and have a shared data file on the server. No one needs to log on to the server.

I can't comment on the Vista question...we don't/won't use it here.

^This^ is how to set it up. Put the data file(s) (usually the .QBW file) on a network share and install QB on each workstation that needs it. Of course it will need to be a multi-user version of Quickbooks to work this way.
