setting up a ps2 online?

Hey anyone sharing their internet connection with a ps2. A friend wants to know how to hook up the ps2 online for his son. He has cable internet. What do we need? Would a hub do it?
thanks

I've got my PS2 setup through a wireless game adapter from Linksys. Before I just plugged the extra port from my router into the PS2 and it worked.

Depends on how you have your network set up. Is there only one computer on the cable modem? If that is the case, then just adding the ps2 to the network with a hub will not work unless you have 2 ip's from your broadband provider. What you will need is a network router that will act as a DHCP server and share you rinternet access between the pc and ps2.

Or you could just swap the cable to the modem for each time you want to play the ps2.
