Setting Up a New Computer (ME --> XP Pro)

I am setting up a new computer for a friend tonight. He bought a Dell with XP Pro. His old comp is running ME. I will be transferring all of his old data over. Can you point me to any checklists to follow so I can assure I get everything or can you offer some pointers?
