Setting up a LCD/TV/DVD display as a PC monitor???

I have a toshiba 17" 16x9 lcd-tv-dvd player SD-P7000. It also has vga hookup for a computer. How can I set this up as a pc monitor? And how do I tell windows xp its 16x9 size?
 
Should be a case of plug 'n' play.. I've never set a moniter up in that size, but I expect that your graphics card options will allow you to set it up for 16:9 resolution, if your card supports it.
