I have a Dell desktop, 3 gis, Core 2,250g hard drive, Win 7 Professional, etc.

This is going in a Kiosk and I need to make it as idiot proof as possible. I want users to browse safe sites but not DL torrents, viruses, porn, or make user changes to the system files including the installation of any programs or add-ons. Of course they need to be blocked from the run box as well as holding down shift on boot to bypass the logon. Last, it restarted it should boot to the preset webpage.

Should I go for some Kiosk software or try the MS Group Policy Editor, or maybe a combination of both?

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't have a router but I could get one.

Thanks!
Randy

That would be fine for the browser but I also need to lock down any system settings.
Thanks for the tip about kidzui.

We've deployed Provisio's SiteKiosk. It's pretty good at locking down the system and browser plus they have a free trial available.
