Setting up a free hotspot

Im thinking about putting in a free hotspot in a small business, however I am wondering if there are any risks and how difficult it is to set up. I have googled a few things, and found set up guides for linux, but not windows. Honestly I have extremely limited knowledge in this area, so im wondering if someone could give me a skeleton of info so ill know what to look for/learn.

A couple of specific questions,

What "stuff" do I need?
Is it possible to do it for free (other than the obvious hardware costs and monthly lan charge)?

The business is not big, and not in the highest of tech places, so I dont think I need anything top of the line. Thanks

Providing the basic is simple you can do this and you would be ready to go.

However there are variety of Legal and safety issue that depends on who you are providing the service to, what for, and what would be your level of responsibly.

If you need a controlled log-on, you would need specialty hardware and a more complicated environment.

Google for the term Internet Cafe, and read a little about the topic and see what level of such service fits your vision of Hot Spot.

Be careful Hot can Burn. 😉
