setting up a dual boot?

I'd like to have windows on my new external and would still like to keep it on my notebook's HD too. How would I go about setting this up? My external is much faster and I'd much rather have it running windows than my notebooks

You would have to make sure that your laptop bios will allow you to boot from a USb device. It will be tough to get everything working correctly, and unless you have a 4200rpm drive, the usb drive will be slower.

see if you can get the bios to recognize the drive and try to install to it. if it works then you are set. If not..SOL

so a 7200 RPM USB drive wouldn't be any faster than a 5200 RPM hard drive?
