Setting NAT type to STRICT

Google has let me down. I am trying to set my NAT as Strict to use in conjunction with my PS4. I have found plenty of guides on how to go to open NAT, but I haven't been able to logically get it to go the other way.

I have an ASUS NT-56U.

I have turned off uPNP, no change. I have turned off NAT. Then the PS4 cannot connect to the network at all. The only thing I can think of is turning off the DHCP which I'm assuming will break the network and I'll have to assign everything IP addresses. I don't want to do that unless it's the only way of this working.

Thanks in advance,
Daemas

Just assign a static ip for your PS4.

You can go into your router and set the DHCP to start from a certain number, then assign the PS4 to one number below that, this allows strict NAT to work better.

But also Strict NAT adversely affects gameplay and voice chat, why do you want to do it anyway?

I'm trying to use it when I play destiny on my ps4 to keep from having other people in my zone so I can farm materials much easier. Obviously looking for some easy solution that can more or less be toggled on/off when i want to actually play with other people, etc. Of which, changing the static IP address assigned to the PS4 is an easy option. When I assign the IP address to outside of the DHCP range, do I need to do anything else? NAT on/off? uPNP on/off? etc?

thanks in advance,
Daemas

EDIT: Just setting the PS4 IP address to outside of the DHCP range did not fix my issue. Neither did also turning off uPNP. Turning off NAT also had the same effect of not allowing an internet connection. Any other ideas?

Isn't Destiny client-server based, rather than peer-to-peer, like Age of Empires 2 for PC, for example? If so, you are not going to be successful in what you are attempting to achieve.
