Setting memory timing

I have an 8IK1100 where can you change the memory timing?
All the options I can see are related to FSB / DDR timing and not CAS latency.

Help?

Welcome to the Forums TsuroHata 🙂

I downloaded the manual for the 8IK1100, but I don't see any place to change the timings either, except for the ones you already mentioned. Maybe a newer BIOS will come out that gives you control over the timings.

Hold the CTRL key and hit F1, an "Advanced Chipset Features" section will pop up. This is where you can adjust your memory timings.

Thanks, that works.

Now to see why it only allows setting to CAS of 2.5.

I have 2 x 256 Kingston Hyperx 3500 and 2 x 256 Corsair XMS 3200 so I should be able to get a setting of 2, unless the MB will not set it with banks 3 and 4 loaded?

Also having fun with overclock to FSB of 241 and memory timing of 1.66 (400DDR) will reboot when initialising the graphics driver in WinXP.
Running a Saphire Radeon 9700 pro. Anything to look for?

Oops, spoke too soon.

Tried memory settings of 2.5, 6, 2, 2, 7.8ms (going down the options list) but got reset when loading Windows. Reset to using SPD timings and no problems loading windows.

From the Kingston site the memory should accept timings of 2,6,2,2 without any problems at DDR 400 and so should the corsair. Most likely will have to go through pulling some of the memory out and testing that way. Oh fun........

During my testing the 8IK1000 Pro was unable to operate at CAS 2.0 with Corsair TwinX LL 256MB PC3200 modules when the BIOS memory timings were set to CAS 2-2-2-5, only CAS 2.5 was possible. We were able to confirm this with CPU-Z 1.18, which read out actual timings of CAS 2.5-2-2-5 instead of the BIOS inputted CAS 2-2-2-5.

Cool.

Did some further testing and these were the best values I could set and load windows. I have since run Sandra and 3dmark2003 without any problems.

Settings. 2.5,3,2,5. CAS Latency, RAS to CAS Delay, RAS Precharge, and Precharge Delay (in that order).

3dmark sitting at 5162, not too shabby I suppose.

I've got the IK1100 too and should be receiving my 2 x 256 Kingston PC3200 HyperX chips on friday. So you weren't able to get them running at cas2?!

Also have you had any problems with the motherboard beeping at you when you are in windows? Mine beeps all the time pretty much.. like not constantly but every so often it goes into fits of beeping. It's not heat so I don't know.

What processor are you running?
