Building a new computer i went with this board and proccessor cause of the recomendations read here.

Want to know the best setting for first over clock, i really just want 3.0 or 3.2 stable nothing fancy but which way should i go about doin it for maximum speed..fsb..i see 10 x 300 in some posts but dont i want 333 fsb for best results? like 8 x 333?

i havent built a system in along time or overclocked been been about 4 years. also any other setting for first time..i figured 1:1 ratio...and starting out with 5-5-5-15 then try 4-4-4-12 after its stable with the speed.

thanks any tips are well apreciated

Clear CMOS. Use default CPU multiplier.

N5 DDR2 667 should be able to hit 340MHz at default 1.8Vdimm and 4-4-4-12-2T timing. That said, maintain stock timing at this time. Use 1:1 memory divider. Raise FSB to 300MHz and Vcore to 1.4. Run Orthos/Prime95 large mode for 10 min. If okay, then raise FSB by 5MHz and retest. Run Orthos for 2 hours for long-term stability test. Limit peak Orthos CPU temp to about 65C (coretemp 0.95.4). CPU can handle up to about 1.46Vcore.

Hey Newbie,
I got the same board and RAM with an E2180 (have not put it together yet, been on travel). SerpentRoyal seems to be all over these P35 board setups. Have fun and let us know. Hope to POST mine this wknd.

can i got 8x with higher fsb or is that not possible or not better?

Chip work best at default multi. If you want higher FSB, then go with E4300 or E4400. Use the memory divider to overclock RAMs once you have achieved the maximum stable core speed.
