setting a com port

Hello . . . can anyone help with this? I'm trying to enable my COM port 2 in the bios
but not completely sure what settings I should use . . . I tried it on auto, but the
serial cable product I was using still did not work (yes I did install it correctly and all
that jazz) . . . Does anyone have any information that may help?

Could you tell us a little about your system?
Does the "product" work on Com1 ?(as a test)
What operating system are you running?

hehe, sorry about that . . . I've got a 500Mhz PIII Quantex PC, running both win2000 & win98.
The product does not work on COM1 either . . . what other specs do you need?
