setiq.muc-central.com downtime warning

Hey guys... my queue will be going down at around 11:30am PST next Saturday (17th). They are shutting down
the power to our building, but we will have a generator powering us for the day. My server may be down from 5
minutes to 30 minutes each time we switch power sources. It's a shame that I'm going to lose my 340 days of
uptime, but it will be a good excuse to do a buildworld/kernel on this box.

Hopefully things will go smoothly, but you all know that things rarely do 😉

Cheers!

Thanks for the notice and thank you very much for your dedication to the TeAm. 🙂

Power maintanance is done. The buggers didn't even give us a 30min warning before dropping our power. All 30+ of our servers and network equipment got shutdown, my box being one of them. Luckily there were few filesystem problems and everything came back up alright. Considering I built a new world/kernel, and the fact that my machine hadn't been booted in 340 days, it seemed to recover from this quite well. Now it's running FreeBSD 4.7p29 with a kernel that loads the KB device even if a KB isn't attach at bootup.

Anyways... everything looks up to me. IF you are experiencing any problems connecting to my Q, please let me know!
