Seti - WU Process time

Does RAM type (speed) and/or total (128/256/512...) matter for Seti WU processing time? Or just dependent on CPU speed.

I ask because I have some extra parts I am throwing together to make some Seti computers and I am curious.

Actually, the higher your FSB the faster you gonna crunch (to a certain degree) the WUs. SETI is pretty memory dependent. But I think past 256 or even 128 MB you're fine with thes size of memory, given that SETI is the only thing running. Like if you do some heavy graphic stuff at the same time, there won't be much memory left for SETI.

seti only requires 32 mb of ram (I don't know how much it can actually use but thats the minimum requirement) Edit: per instance ie if hyperthreading you must have a minimum of 64 mb.
Hope this helps

1 instance of S@H1 uses 15MB so you just need a little spare for the OS 😉

Btw as well as low latency RAM timings SETI likes low latency chipsets too
