I was just wondering what the most efficient system is, out of new parts, per seti WU.

Formula:

Cost of Machine purchase/WU per day = cost/WU (this is just a figure, since we are assuming the machines could run for a while)

Athlon XP 2500 333 OC to 10-12WU/day 85
Motherboard w/ video out/LAN 55
256 of DDR ram 30
PS 10
----------------------------------------
$180
eg: $180 Barton 2500+ OC / 10 WU per day = $18/WU

I think Evadman ran up a cost per WU report some time ago. Maybe he can update it? :D

To stay REALLY cheap, look thru the F/S forums....you can pickup an XP1600+ or 1700+ for around $35 and overclock it.

Hmmmm I was going to get another Shuttle through NewEgg but mWave is cheaper. BTW, is ResellerRatings down for anyone else? All I get is a redirection to Verisign's new sitefinder service.
