yes I have 3.08 should I use 3.03 instead?

The SETI driver says I have been working on the current WU for 2 hours 29 min and the estimated time remaining is 24 min so a little less than 3 hours per WU u havea pretty good guess lol

Nice rig🙂 ,though with that setup you should be crunching WUs in about 3hrs or less ,are you using the screen saver version?

Think I'll have to try 2.8vDIMM too😉 ,though I don't want to increase the timings from 2.5-2-2-6

actually I think you should try a TRAS of 11 if you have an Nforce 2 board it has proven to give better performance than other lower latency's give ita try I bet it will be

WOW im stupid I didn't relize that the estimated time remaing was for the TOTAL not how much I have done so far it now estimates a WU 's will take 2 hours 23 minutes to complete It seems to keep estimating the total time faster and faster too hehe. =)

What's TRAS11?😱😕

3.03 was replaced by 3.08 because of a minor security flaw ,but 3.08 is about 12% slower at most WUs ,& the security flaw of 3.03 is easily fixed with a single line of text in the 'hosts' file🙂.LMK if your interested
If you wanta download 3.03 CLI then use the link given by SETI for 3.08CLI & just alter the 8 to a 3

I actually think I am using 3.03 how do I fix this flaw in the .LMK file?

TRAS is the latency that you have as 6

2.5.,2,2,6 instead of that try 11 most nforce 2's like this better

Tras should acutally be CAS + CAS to RAS + 2 so in your case 2.5 + 2 + 2 = 6.5 so ur current tras of 6 is okay but it would be better as 7 but as I said before Nforce2's are nuts and perform best with TRas at 11. =)

I just loaded SETI on my 1.3 Centrino laptop and it estimates to complete a WU in 2 hours thats faster than my AMD machine WOA the 1 meg cache rules.

Hmm, I could try that I guess ,it would allow me to reach a higher FSB but I'm not sure increasing Latencies by that much would offset the performance gained by the higher FSB

Btw LMK was Let Me Know 😉
Read this thread or just put the following line in your 'hosts' file 🙂

66.28.250.122 shserver2.ssl.berkeley.edu

And yeah Pentium Ms rock at SETI 😀

I'm don't think you get what I mean Tras of 11 is FASTER than 6 with or without increasing your FSB. it is just how the Nforce2's work.

No that can't be right ,unless I've totally misunderstood things ,each of those numbers (e.g. 2.5-2-2-6) refers to the number of CPU clocks that have to occur before the next operation can be done ,the higher the number the higher the latency, the longer the CPU has to wait for information ,so higher is slower.Though setting a higher number will often allow a higher bus speed 🙂

plenty of nforce 2 users find that 11 is faster then any other tras latency config. just try it and u will see. it is just a funky thing with these boards I will see if I can dig up some links with proof. but you could just try it too. =)

Ok I'll try it when I have time ,but it doesn't make sense!😉

I'll use SSSandra to compare mem bandwidth.
Some links would be nice to understand this though!🙂
