SETI times & WU's didn't look right - then I found out why...

My fastest machine all of a sudden seemed to kick into overdrive starting about 1AM today.
I noticed because according to my SetiQ I have done 30WU's today but according to "real" stats it's only been 21 WU's.
I checked my Q and saw that machine was doing each WU in about 1 hr 15 minutes. WOW thought I, that's amazing!!
I looked at the AR's & the times and the ratios seemed right, just the time to complete was too fast!
So then I looked at the report on that client in my Q and there was the answer:

"Message from Seti WARNING: discarding result because it is from an obsolete version of SETI@home."

I checked and sure enough, the seti.exe it had been using was mysteriosly gone and it was using an older version, one dated in 2000.

So now I know that machine does version 3 seti WU's in 1:15 for whatever good that does me 😉

Well late last night it "froze" and got rebooted.
When it came back up it was asking for the location of seti*.exe so the old one got picked.
Whatever happened to the new one nobody can tell. 😕
