SETI: The sad day has come...

I have some bad news to report...

The day has finally come. We change our network over to the new circuit and router tonight and when I make the necessary changes on the clients I'll be uninstalling the SETI service on all but my own work client and any spare PC's I can keep in my office. All of the user machines will have the service uninstalled and SETI files deleted. I don't want to do it but with my situation I'm not in the position to ask for permission to run the client and even if I was I know how strict they are so I already know the answer anyway.

I had hopes of getting back into the overall top 200 and finishing with over 200K WU's but it appears that's not going to happen. At least my average CPU time will go down though. :p :D

The good news... I'll still have my home fleet worth about 30 WU's per day and my mom and dad sometimes run the client for me giving me another 10 - 15 WU's on a good day. I guess that's worth a :) but not a :D...

Edit: I want to thank everyone for offering to help me make the 200K milestone. It just further proves to me how great and unselfish this TeAm is. I've always tried to put the TeAm before my personal stats so while I truly appreciate the offer I must decline. I'm not going to make that 200K milestone but I'm quite happy knowing I've got a 100% honest crunch and best of all belong to the greatest TeAm and website around.

Sad to hear Rob! but Thanx for all you've done for the TeAm and enjoy what you've got left! :D

You are still my "hero". :p :D

This highlights a good message for all to remember. DO NOT run any DC CLIENT on computers that you do not have permission.

Do not jeopardize you job. Robor, who has had permission in the past, has run Seti on his company's computers for a very long time. Since that permission is not clear cut any longer, removing Seti is the absolutely correct thing to do. ;)

I've mentioned this before and I'll say it again, "It doesn't make any difference how many WUs @ day you produce. We are all in this together so do what you can and HANG ON FOR THE RIDE for we have places to go and ET to find!".

:D

Actually Robor had the oldest work fleet on the Team by far AFAIK;).

Robor
Sorry to hear you've finally lost your work fleet:( ,pitty it couldn't last until the end of S@H1 but that's life I guess.
Good to hear you'll still be with us with your home fleet though:)
I think we deserve a little history of your work fleet anyway;) ,like when you 1st started it ,with what rigs ,start output ,when you ramped it up etc;)

Btw I might able to swing it for you to give ya a temporary boost in output ,hows does 150+/day sound to get you to 200k?:D
(no promises atm)

is your DF herd going to suffer the same fate?
Unfortunately yes... I don't have a central queue to monitor my DF clients and honestly I lost track of which PC's have DF installed. That said any of the DF clients that I found in my building were uninstalled last night. I think I came across three...? The rest are at another site and I'm sure one of the admins there will remove the service when they find it. Again, not something I want to do but the new company is very strict regarding what's running on a system and I know I'd be called on the carpet when they found out.
