Seti Team Help

Ok i just downloaded seti team but it won't work and neither engineer or i have the foggiest. When i try to download the results it says error 10061 connection refused. I have tried using the berkeley mirror and still no luck

PS. i have a dial up modem and no firewall so it can't b that

Mine is working perfectly.

Check your Internet Settings.

Mine read as follows:

Normal Port: 80
Proxy Port: 8080
Proxy: <BLANK>
Server: http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/
Download Limit: 400,000

The 400000 isn't needed for Team AnandTech YET but we are fast approaching the default setting of 200,000. 400,000 is needed to download the data for the teams with large memberships.

Humph,

All I can think of is to back to the SetiTEAM home page and see if there are any FAQs. I have corressponded with the author, sqiz, when we were having the NAMING CONVENTION problem(some folks are still having problems with this) and he does not offer any Tech Support.

Did you notice this:

15.8.2001 Yup, they changed the format of the results tables again !!!
Download version 1.6h and either delete your existing SetiTeam.sav & SetiTeam.cmp files or use a text editor to remove the last line if it contains (#1).

If you had a previous version you needed to do the above.

Other than that...I just don't know.

The previous versions don't work because of a data table change...but I did read somewhere that there is a version .c that was modded to work because the .h version keeps aborting.../me goes to look!

I thought I'd try it and I too can't get anything to D/L. If I try the "http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/" it returns "invalid host" if I try the URL that is on the website it just sits there.

Shux,

aiex is having a different problem than you are....the SETITeam program has a problem in that it seems to CRAP out on broadband connections. If you are running Win2k and set the priority to HIGH, this will not happen again. Win98, just hit abort and update...over...and over...and over...until it works...whew!

Make sure to place Team AnandTech in the box before hitting update...the name must match exactly as it appears on the SETI site!
