Another racer takes the checkered flag down on the TeamAnandtech SETI 1000 racing oval as NaughtyusMaximus, turbo chargers screaming, hurls his racing rig across the finish line after holding off a valiant late charge by the Bird Man. Also providing some closing moment excitement is the newcomer to the SRL, Ameesh, who attempts to power his way into contention at the last moment but falls just short. The 1000 wu races are quite significant since they vault the racers into the first of the coveted K Clubs. All who storm this finish line are winners, no matter who crosses ahead of them. Congratulations, NaughtyusMaximus!
The weekly Turtle Dump has occurred right on schedule. Polo's turtle is obviously one happy little reptile now that he's dumping on a regular basis again. As expected, the wu purge has landed Polo in second place in front of the Hare while Ben's Bunny turns in 28 workunits in what amounts to an excellent day's worth of production, his highest in a while. Meanwhile, Izzy is chugging for all he's worth, hoping that Assimilator1 can somehow increase his output enough to allow him to catch up to the rest of the pack.
It would appear that nearly all of the starships in the Race to Catch Joe have fully engaged their trans-galactic drives with the exception of the USS Ohio who is puttering through sub-space on one warp nacelle and a jerry-rigged ion drive from one of the shuttles. The USS Hack is once again cruising at a blistering pace, churning up the dark matter at an alarming rate. After causing quite a panic by temporarily dropping off of the view screens yesterday, Captain Joe is back in everybody's sensor logs and going strong. It seems he was only testing his cloaking device, which makes everyone go "Hmmmmm" since the USS Rohan holds a cruise ship registration. Must be some things about good old Captain Joe and his ship Starfleet just doesn't want the rest of us to know about.
In other races, Elfenix, the Alaskan King Crab, on the heels of his most productive day in recent history, falters just a bit as the red-haired kid from the upper midwest throws down his second consecutive 14 wu day. Doomer continues his relentless charge to 2000 as he is now only seven wu's behind Sorcerer and Rowdy Ray struggles to learn a new wrassling maneuver right in the middle of the Grudge Match and Super Sukhoi is taking advantage of the opportunity by pounding on his fellow pugilist. Lots of action taking place in Another Race to 1500 as a mere 31 wu's separate IcecreamLtDan, Jumpin' JWyatt, and ledzepp98 while the Cardassians and The Federation, with TWTA tagging along, have supposedly joined forces in an attempt to storm the track and forcefully wrestle the contest away from the earth-bound contestants. Yield and Smokeball continue to battle tooth and nail on the road to 4000 and the Race to 1500 is a battle for second place as the Great Dane is now only 51 wu's from victory.
