First off today before I get to the races, I'd like to just say "Thanks!" to IJump whom I had the pleasure of meeting in person yesterday. He was in the area visiting relatives so we met for lunch and he brought me a couple of old motherboards so I could get some of my ancient Celery CPU's crunching for the team. Thanks, IJump! The law has finally caught up with the race coordinator. Riding his posse as hard as possible, the Sheriff manages to catch and pass my sorry butt and hand me a first class ticket to 37th position on the team. I don't know how many of you remember when Zappin' Zod first made his appearance on TA-Seti's charts. His tally at that point was somewhere around the 3500 mark. Since that time, the Sheriff of Labville has managed to crush more than 10,000 workunits under his horse's hoofs as he chases down the lawless and rowdy ones, bringing the likes of myself and the defster to justice. It's been a while since the hottub babes in the lounge have seen the Sheriff and they're very excited about his visit since they mentioned what a model pupil he was during their last physics lesson. So wash the dust off, have a cold one and perhaps a shot of sour mash, and settle into the tub and prepare to listen to the PhD babe's latest Hottub Lecture Series topic, "I'm So Hot For You, Baby: The Myth That is Cold Fusion". Congratulations, Sheriff!
It wasn't too long ago that the British Bulldogs zoomed their way out to a triple digit lead in Another race to 6000. That lead has dwindled to a miniscule 13 as the led zepper has chopped away a little at a time to narrow the distance on a daily basis. The Liberated Predatory Canid remains on the prowl in Another Race to 4000 (and a number of other venues) but time may be his enemy as Panhead49 has the checkered flag in his sights only 103 wu's ahead. Super Sukhoi keeps firing the wu gun at a steady pace in the Summer Sizzler to 3500, extending his lead over Eltano1 to 49 after out-running the Miami Man by four in yesterday's tally. Meanwhile, Maggotry falls one shy of earning his third K-Key as Powerful Pyxis tries valiantly to regain lost ground, and the newcomer Tetsuo316 continues his impressive mid-teen purges.
What a time for the plasma inverters to fail in Captain Phil's warp influx phase compensator! Only days into the race to cover 3000 parsecs and the ultra powerful trans-galactic drive concept ship is left puttering through space like a Breem ore freighter while Captain Indy has the USS Jaws warp nacelles glowing blue with clean trans-warp power. In The Star-Studded Stellar Cluster Crunch to 2500, Lane42 has already nearly made up his entire pre-race handicap. Dumping a collosal 122, Lane lands right in the middle of the crowd trying desparately to keep the streaking wirelessenabled in view. Speaking of WLE, he fires off an impressive dump tally of 59 to turn a lead that yesterday numbered one over GreatWhiteNorth to more comfortable 31. Finally recovering from his unfortunate rendezvous with Rowdy Ray's Cane of Flatulence, Minnie Minendo appears bound and determined to get right back into the The Crunch Bunch Munch to 1500. With a stellar 49 wu burst, Minnie closes to within 120 wu's of the team of Great Danes who currently hold the lead.
Two power dumps take place in the Race to Crunch 1500 That I Can't Think Of A Name For, one from the leader [/b]LANMAN[/b] and a double-shockie winner from Polo who let's loose with a 195 wu turtle dump. I've got to believe that our French friend is rather suprised by the nearly matching dump from LANMAN whose dump timing was pure perfection. My, it's a close one at the top of DDad's Wonderful Tuff Crabby Ass(imilator) Race to 750! DDad comes through with a nice 55 to win a shockie but Tuffie continues his impressive run, purging 19 to remain at the front of the pack.
